(DEC) hardware and software markets. I have been covering the IT, Internet, World Wide Web, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (A.I.) revolutions ever since. This includes in-depth coverage of the cutting-edge technologies that support the trading of equities, bonds, and derivatives and, behind the scenes, the complex securities operations at banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and other financial services firms.

I have been a full-time journalist since 1984 when I began freelancing for professional publications and later served as the managing editor of a monthly trade magazine for the log home industry. For the trade journal, I wrote about the construction of log homes, dome homes, and under-the-earth homes.
Since then, I have tackled a variety of subjects, including stories on the architecture of computer hardware and software systems, how securities trading rooms work, and the inner workings of derivative financial instruments.
In fact, in 2000, I received the Gold Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for an information technology (IT) management feature about a major project at the U.S. Mint.

As for accolades, I won the 2000 Gold Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for a feature on an IT project at the United States Mint, a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
