Why I'm the FinTech Journalist You Should Hire Now

All About Eugene M. Grygo

Covering the IT Revolution for Three Decades

I began covering IT developments in 1987 when I got a features writing position with Digital Review, a trade publication covering the once-burgeoning Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) market. I have been covering the IT revolution ever since. This includes niche coverage of equities and bond trading systems and business operations for Wall Street financial services firms.

Some of my career highlights are:

33 years as full-time journalist;

30 years of covering IT hardware and software developments and management issues;

And 20 years covering the technology that supports Wall Street’s financial markets.

Explaining Everything from Dome Homes to Derivatives

I have been a full-time journalist since 1984 when I began writing about the log home industry for a trade magazine in Corry, Pa.

I moved on from writing about the construction of log homes, dome homes and under-the-earth homes.

I have tackled a variety of subjects, including stories on the architecture of computer hardware and software systems, how securities trading rooms work, and the inner workings of derivative financial instruments.

In fact, in 2000, I received the Gold Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for an information technology (IT) management feature about a major project at the U.S. Mint.

Over the past three decades, I have worked in a variety of roles:

General assignment reporter for a daily newspaper;

Trade magazine editor;

Business writer;

Technology editor and reporter;

Web news editor;

And weekly blogger on multiple subjects.
